Counterfeit Legend of Zelda Art Book

From forum member Manveri:

I've seen a heap of these on Ebay lately, and my mum actually bought me one of these for my birthday, not knowing any better. I've noticed they quite subtly write "fan art guide book" or something like that in their item description, which I suppose is how they're getting away with it... Grr!

-There is no copyright information in it whatsoever, nothing about when or where it was published, and nowhere in the book can I see "Nintendo" written anywhere.
-A lot of the pictures are blurry, and a great deal are very pixelated and plain horrible looking. In some places where official art of some of the characters could not be found, pictures have been taken straight from the game, and some are VERY pixelated.
- A lot of images also have thin white edges around them where they have obviously been cropped.
- I noticed on one page, a couple of the characters names have been mixed up. (Colin is having an identity crisis and has changed his name to Beth!)
- There's a small section that shows a few items of "Zelda merchandise"... or at least I think that's what it is. Some is real (in which case, the pictures aren't great), but a lot is just fan made things, and merchandise that has been customised, such as a Wii painted black with the replica Hylian Shield and Master Sword that came with the soundtrack glued to the side. There's even a pic of someone's car with a 'Hyrule' number plate. Yeah, I'm sure Nintendo would put that in their book... Rolling Eyes
- I have never seen this book on Yahoo Japan. For a book that's been written in Japanese, and is so abundant on non-Japanese speaking auction sites, I find this quite strange.
