Four new tabletop/board games from Epoch just erupted onto the scene.
In mid-April, a New Super Mario Bros. 2 Board Game comes out, and seems to be the sequel to a similar board game for the original game.
Also in mid-April, a "labyrinth game" involving lots of pipes and what appears to be marbles running a maze by tilting. Epoch just loves its tilting games.
Another marble game hits in mid-April as well, titles "Super Mario Big Adventure", it looks like another playset with lots of traps and pratfalls that Epoch likes to make.
The last one comes out in June, and is a Mario Kart 8 "Grand Prix" tabletop game. It'll probably use marbles too. Heh.
Ribbon is the little fairy from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. A plush set was released for this set, including King Dedede, Bronto Burt, and Kirby. Supposedly, there is also an Adeleine plush out there, but I have not seen one. Ribbon is quite rare as it is, and to see her at auction for only 90yen is shocking! Got a slew of other nice auctions for you as well!

This is a new Lighted Star Plush that has hit the market in Japan. There have been several on the unofficial market like this, so either the official market caught up or the counterfeiters behind this are amazing. I wouldn't be posting it on the blog if I thought it was fake though, so there's my vote of confidence. Nightram's seal of approval?
At any rate, there are LEDs in each star tip that glow different colors when the plush is activated.
Haven't found it anywhere in import shops, making me think this is a one-off from either a new company or a more aloof one (like Japan Auto Toy). I can't really make out that logo in the bottom right corner . . .
Anyway, more pics after the break!
A new set of five figures has arrived in Japan, and they're pretty neat. They loop like capsule figures but the packaging shows that they may hang on shelves in Japan as a quick impulse buy. A Star Rod rip cord is included, and when the figure is fed through it at speed, it will send the figure roarin' across the floor! So far I can only see they're from Nintendo/HAL.
A pic of the packaging lies after the break.
This Big Head Mario and Yoshi game is very odd, and even though I have one in the box, I'm still not sure how it's played. Often, you'll see these Mario and Yoshi figures outside of the set go for ridiculous amounts. So, the auction price is a steal just for the figures, but contains the whole game. 2500yen with 1 day left.
Super Mario All-Stars complete plush set - Some tagged - 3000yen, < 1 day left.

Along with a slew of digital downloads, the physical rewards for Club Nintendo's final days have been revealed. Then, the site promptly went down. Still, you can gather all your pins for coins and have a plan of attack for when it does come back up.
This is the complete set as I know it of Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island mini magnet plushes that came in capsules. A very odd set of merchandise, but one of the only actual pieces we could really call Kamek (along with the figural stamp set from the same game). The super-deformed figures are scrunched in their capsules along with a set sheet. If I could get to mine right now I would confirm that this is indeed the full set, but I believe my memory does serve here. 5000yen for the set with 2 days left.
Mario Lucky Coin Game - 4800yen, 3 days.
Complete Luigi's Mansion set from Auto-Toy - 4000yen BID, 4800yen BIN, < 7 hours left, may renew with no bids.

New set of four Mario gashapon feat. Bowser Jr. - 1080yen BID, 1296yen BIN. 1 day left.
So this #nendoroidnotnendoroid figure comes from the company "empty", who calls their big0headed chibi-style figures "chara-formes". They have nabbed the license for Falchion's Master, Chrom, and intend to release him unto the world this May. You can pre-order at several major importers. Aim for around $30 pre-shipping.
This is an interesting approach. Instead of making an X figure we've all seen before, the folks at the hope-to-be-established-soon Truforce Collectibles has re-imagined X as a more modern figure, perhaps what X would look like in a Mega Man X9 capacity. Please?
$80 is the asking price, but you don;t get much by backing. Doesn't say anything about Kickstarter packaging or any bonus, just getting it before dealers do. At the $210 mark, backers get the original figure, and a "Test-Armor Variant", along with a print and a shirt.
Certainly unconventional, but I like the approach and it's always good to have more manufacturers with game licenses making stuff! Plus, they're going after an official license!
Mario, Wiggler, Peach and Toad, and Bowser Jr. in the Clown Car complete this set, known as the Super Mario Solid Mario Collection Vol. 1. The set from Takara Tomy Arts looks great and is fairly cheap at 300yen per capsule! Who doesn't want a Bowser Jr. right now anyway!
Thanks to Sphacks and MarioManic!
Pre-order Codename S.T.E.A.M. at Gamestop and get a Majora's Mask pin as a bonus. Cause that makes sense.
A gorgeous limited edition Majora's Mask New Nintendo 3DS XL was announced today along with the announcement that the system will launch on Feb. 13th. Get your F5 key ready . . . because nobody has it up for pre-order yet.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and Toad make up this set . . . so far. Announced for the compatibility for Mario Party 10, this set will obviously have many other uses. Smash Bros. Amiibo can be used in MP10, but data must be deleted. Meh. Toad will also be retroactively compatible with Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. Yay!
Robin (male version), Lucina, Pac-Man, Wario, Ness, and Charizard make up this round. Also, Bill Trinnen let slip that Marth, at the very least, would be re-released later this year. So, don't go spending over $100 just yet!
GE Animation just announced their X plush, and now Zero will join him. Both look great in plush form. Also announced was a Proto Man blanket with his helmet stitched into it to make it like a hoodie . . . blanky . . . thing. Is this the start of a new fad?
Well, that is what NCSX is selling them for. For that price, they come in a display case and apparently you get two full sets, but it's still pretty steep. The manufacturer, Hasepuro, will also have them for individual sale, but no mention of whether they will be blind packaged or just regularly presented. Weird that a set like this would need a display case. They seem like cheap ticket-booth prizes.
