Got my Link statue when on lunch today. PICS! REVIEW!!

Height : 14.5 inches
SRP : $129.99 - $99.99 (Play-Asia)
Availability: In Stock from their website.

Pretty sweet, eh? It's a great sculpt with few painting flaws. There are some scraped paint bits and the stand appears scratched for some reason. Doesn't detract from its beauty much, but still . . . odd.

Onto the packaging:

The Description reads:
Quote:
"Very little is understood about the demigod known as the Fierce Deity. With his history shrouded in mystery, the dark and mighty warrior was trapped in a mask, a mask which allows the wearer to inhabit the Fierce Deity's powerful body. Powerful and evil, could this mask's dark powers be as bad as Majora? When young Link dons the Fierce Deity Mask, he manages to harness its power without being corrupted and is transformed into Fierce Deity Link for the ultimate showdown with Majora . . .

First 4 Figures is proud to present Fierce Deity Link, the first collectible statue in the First 4 Figures highly anticipated Legend of Zelda statue series. With inspiration taken from the official Majora's Mask Fierce Deity Link artwork, the statue has faithfully recreated Fierce Deity's powerful and mysterious character and pose. raising his double helix sword high above his head, he is ready to take on any his enemies (typo). Towering at over 14.5 inches to the tip of his sword hilt, Fierce Deity Link will be in scale with the others in the series.

Cast in high quality poly-stone, the statue is hand finished and hand painted. Comes packed in a foam interior full colored box with a card of authenticity. Highly limited at only 2,500 pieces available worldwide."

Nice box, really. Not what I was expecting, but they managed to plaster Link's image on each side. Nice. It's well packed too:

The stand is what people see first:

Very nice. I managed to snag statue 0005. Wow. Yeah me!
Here's the Authenticity Card:

Onto the figure. The sword and hands is separate from the body, so you have to assemble it. This is where the proverbial sh*t hit the fan, because the hands didn't line up with the pegs.

In trying to squeeze them a bit to fit, the sword handle cracked! :bowsercry: :Wily: :Freaked: :Maddk: :cranky: :madwario: :Lakitu:

Luckily, this letter comes with the product:

I emailed them and liteally SECONDS later I had a response saying they were sorry and to send pics of the damage. Pics were sent, damage was viewed, and a replacement part will be set out in . . . a month and a half. :Sonicpoint: The rep assured me that he would work very hard to get it out faster. Possibly the best customer service I've ever received (minus the wait).

Overall, I'm very happy, especially because of the replacement.

Back to the figure:
The sculpt is very nice, and the figure is very well painted apart from one scuff on his boot and some slight bubbling on his hat (and the aforementioned scratches on the base - no paint is affected, just weird scratches). I am VERY afraid to drop it or look at it wrong though. It seems just as fragile as my other Zelda statue, and this one has smaller pieces.

For the price of the figure, I'm very impressed. I'm off to register the product (just in case that helps make the replacement piece go faster), and to try to find a spot for the big guy.

Sculpt: 9/10 - Very authentic, and very fragile!
Paint: 7/10 - Few scuffs, bubbles, scratches.
Size: 10/10 - Definitely stands out, even in my collection!
Stand: 8/10 - Gorgeous, but scratches?
Packaging and Box: 9.5/10 - VERY well packed with a great box . . . and a small typo in the description.
Other Material: 10/10 - Coolest Authentication Card I've seen with a figure, and the letter to assure quality was very nice.
Customer Service: 8/10 - Not normally added to the reviews, but worth mentioning. Great response time and solution. Just wish it was sooner.

Overall Score: 8/10.

The statue is definitely worth it in my opinion. It has great potential to become worth more due to its limited run, and the overall figure makes me very happy. Just be aware of the possible "defect".

Congrats to both of you for getting lower numbers! Not a bad sculpt, either.

Wha! Guilotined deity Link! #0002, huh? That's pretty sweet, even considering.

...Do they patrol your site or something? I hate Kotaku. All the sick little bastards post anything they care to at the bottom like a jack-ass's free-for-all "who can be the sickest" party. Way to go, webmaster.

They moderate a little better now. Mostly I just read for the articles and never read user comments. That's how most gamer blogs are anyway.

Well, once in a while they say something useful, but I don't know why they even have comments.

I post all the best stuff from there here anyway. Mostly to get commentary from people I care about instead of all of them that say "this isn't news!" like they know better than the journalists.

Nice Review. The size of the statue is what makes it stand out so much for me and while I love it, the statue is a perfect example of how far first4figures has become. When I see my skull kid or link statue, the improvements are so obvious. The only problem is the size of the statue belittles all my other statues except my golden twilight princess one which is a Goliath also.

I had nothing to do with the old thread being bumped. :Doomlook:
