I was wondering if anybody knows much about this. I have one, and I am thinking about selling it. It is from 1990-1993 I think.

It's the largest, and apparently the most fragile, of the fully 3D Mario displays. I thought that the dates were actually earlier, as the one I have was early 90s as well. Maybe it depends on venue. Mine is from store displays. I believe yours is more from industry events.

Funny, I was about to make a thread about this as well! There's one at my local Toys R Us that's been there for years, so the paint job is not in the best condition. There isn't much info about the statue online, just a couple of pictures from other TRU stores. You think they'd give it to me if I asked them for it?

Can't hurt to ask. I'd start off asking for it for free. If they say no, walk out... come back every week for a month and ask for it for free again. If they keep saying no, at the end of the month, make an offer on it if you're willing to pay.

The worst that could happen is they say no, haha.

Most likely no because Toys R Us stores have policies of destroying and disposing of any displays or standees they have lying around. Just a couple of weeks ago, I asked one of the employees at my local Toys R Us store if he was willing to sell the displays and he said they aren't allowed to give them away or even sell them. But, I might be wrong for all locations.
