I don't think you could call it home if you didn't..."personalize" it a bit.

Re: OMG OMG OMG! Nintendo In-Store Display Cabinet!
I can't wait to see pics. This old guy has been running a video game shop for many many years at my local flea market. He has some ultra coveted vinyl display banners like the mario rpg one that I've seen go for hundreds on ebay and donkey kong 2, a long killer instinct one. He's got so much promo stuff in there it makes my head spin. Anyways, we're on good terms since I sell him games and buy old NP reviews from him often enough and he told me he was retiring in a year or two. He took down my info and told me he'd let me have the stuff in the store. He also asked me if I'd be interested in buying the entire store and taking over his business. Tempting offer but I don't have the time or money.

Pictures of my World of Nintendo display cabinet:

And these have my new World of Nintendo lighted sign on top of it, both lit:

You can also see that little white piece of Nintendo furniture in the shot we were discussing.
Of course, the glass shelves aren't placed yet, but you can see where it's heading!

Oh wow Night that is amazing!!! Are you going to use pegs or shelves in it? I guess shelves would be more useful but either one would be cool. You really hit the jackpot with this one but I can't wait to see what it looks like filled with Nintendo goodies!

Yeah, the guy gave me the original shelves that fit in the pegs. There's even some pegs that support slipping things with clips on them and lining them up (like the old game boxes used to have). I'm thinking plushes for now for those. Heh.

Just hard to say yes when all we have to go on is Flea Market. I dunno about anyone else but those two words aren't usually synonymous with QUALITY!

But the hole was so worth it! Now, you can always look back at that hole and remember that deal.xdarnokx wrote:That sucks, you just bought your house and already you're putting holes in it.Nightram wrote:Okay, so I bought it. I bought it a while ago actually, but I couldn't get it downstairs before the baby shower started because it was too big. I'll post pics soon now that it's assembled again. We had to disassemble it to get it downstairs (we found this out on the last step that it didn't *quite* fit . . . and put a nice hole in the wall).

Re: OMG OMG OMG! Nintendo In-Store Display Cabinet!
It's gone now . . . Heh.
Anyway, I seem to be getting a mixed bag on other sites about this "deal".
Some say it's only worth $200, as one actually got it for that on ebay. Still, if most Nintendo signs go for about $400, something of this size should be worth more to me.
Anyway, some say I got a great deal, some say that guy I bought it from made out like a bandit.
Either way, I'm calling it a wash. It's the perfect piece for where my collection is going.

Re: OMG OMG OMG! Nintendo In-Store Display Cabinet!
The people that say you paid too much are just jealous. Regardless of however much it's "worth", most display cabinets like that cost at least a grand.
