I'd like to see a new R&C at launch. The great thing about Insomniac is that their games get better with every installment. If they have an awesome launch they'll be in good shape.

That gif has been around since that footage of The Last of Us was released...it was made well before any news of the PS4. Kotaku should have known that...but then again that gif suits their needs of their related "news" story. Pretty safe to say that gif is far from center...it's a shame the "journalists" are using it for clicks.

Some of the better gifs making the rounds:

Nintendo started the next gen consoles.. $ony is just continuing it.
I dont see how they can improve on the P$3 graphics are a good as they are going to get.
No console will never out do PCs though.

Sorry I hate $ony with a passion.. Good luck to them I suppose.

VGM out...

Opinions are great...even if misguided, uninformed, and fueled by blatant anti-sentiment.

Also, that gif you posted Mutha...made me laugh heartily. What a perfect Nintendo vs Sony Shining mashup!

Here's a link to "The Kazification"

The amount of viral marketing this announcement has generated is insane.

Interesting stats found regarding the venue (PSLS):

The Hammerstein combines a magnificent, century-old former opera house with fully-integrated 21st century media and entertainment production technology. Recently restored, this elegant room features a hand-painted ceiling, ornate woodwork, and three balconies with side boxes.

Soaring 75 feet above the main floor, the ceiling holds numerous rigging points suitable for production lighting, sound, or set design. Integration with the in-house audio recording studios, television studios, video control rooms, and post-production suites makes the space an incredible venue for productions, special events, live or taped broadcasts, and webcasts or radio broadcasts.

Production possibilities in this highly flexible event space are virtually limitless. Events hosted in The Hammerstein range from international product launches and television awards programs to designer fashion shows and holiday parties.

ROOM CAPACITY

Reception 2,800

Theater Style 2,200

Seated Dinner 1,000

Room Size 12,000 Sq Ft

Fixed Stage Size 54’ (W) x 24’ (D)

*SPIT TAKE*

DEVELOPMENT PS4 CONTROLLER LEAK?!

Image

Clickable touch screen, touch pad on back like Vita. Mic or speaker? Is that a Move light on it? OMG!

Now this is exciting. I wonder how close it'll be to the final design. It looks like it should be comfortable. Not too far off from the classic PS controller design, but maybe a bit more ergonomic? Interesting not having the gap in the d-pad. The Move-like light intrigues me!

Often dev machine controllers are pretty off from final design, and such a mean leak so close to the PS4 announcement.

Oh...sony....geez.

Whatever, I actually really love the look of this, its more like a VMU screen or something, theres definitely potential there, to do things VERY differently than the gamepad, Im glad they have their own take on the idea at least.

As do I...but I have to say, after adding this kit to my personal DS3's, I can't play any other way...

Textured and convex analog cups and scooped L2/R2 triggers. I love these...it makes a nearly perfect design, PERFECT!

It's not a screen like the VMU, it's a touchpad like the Vita's back...

Image

I wouldn't be surprised if the same ∆ O X pattern is repeated on this touchpad. In fact, I'm betting on it!

No, it's not a screen from what I'm reading.
