FF Kai 2

The first volume of Final Fantasy Creatures Kai was a success! So, Square-Enix will do another!
Here’s the lineup:

Bahamut from Final Fantasy IX
Vincent Valentine from Dirge of Cerberus
Ifrit from Final Fantasy X
Siren from Final Fantasy VIII
Shinryu from Dissidia Final Fantasy
1 Unannounced Secret Figure

Nothing terribly exciting yet, but I’ll have my eye out for that secret figure, as Terra was an alarming, and very welcome, surprise in the last set.

Ouch . . . bad pun.

Layton Straps

From Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva anime movie comes this set of gashapon straps. I could only identify three characters, so luckily there is translation:

1. Professor Layton A
2.ルーク 2. Luke
3.ジェニス 3. Jenice
4.レミ 4. Remy
5.レイトン教授&ルーク(レリーフ仕様) 5. Professor Layton and Luke (Spec relief)
6.レイトン教授B 6. Professor Layton B

These are along the same lines as previously released gashapon in terms of sculpt, but I still like the look of the “super-deformed” on these characters.

E-Tank

Kotobukiya and Capcom are bringing us this massive plush squeezie pillow, featuring the most lovable item from the Mega Man series. It’s a real life saver!
It’s up from pre-order at the Japanese Capcom store only, and was revealed at the Wonder Festival 2010.

Ryo Hazuki contest

Sega All-Stars Racing is certainly seeing some serious merchandise already. Now there is a Ryo Hazuki driving forklift figure that can only be won in a contest right now.

FFXIII

As usual (from FFVII on), all of the characters from the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII will be made into figures with great detail. These will be huge, especially Odin’s horse Yggdrasil and the Shiva bike. I’m always amazed at the detail that goes into them. Most of these are already available for preorder.

Sonic Jazwares

These vehicles come from Sega All-Stars racing, but this figure line will only cover the Sonic figures. They look pretty good, even if they are a bit simplistic.

Crono, Ayla, Robo, Frog, Lucca, and Magus are getting immortalized in the newest Formation Arts line from Square-Enix, begging the question, where’s Marle? Maybe she’s hiding behind an angle in one of these figures? I can’t wait for more info, like size and price! These will supposedly hit in late July. Lucca could use some more work (or maybe it’s just an odd angle?).

Big Daddy

Straight out of the Little Sister’s hands in Rapture comes this Big Daddy plush. Pretty ingenious, and also creepy. I like the increasing need for “in-game props” to be sold in the real world.

Kirby plushes

Sword . . . Chef . . . Star . . . YO-YO?! Hey, now there’s one I’ll snag! Bring on the lesser known powers!

Available from Taito and at play-asia.

NSMBWii stationary

This New Super Mario Bros. Wii stationary set suggests that we may be seeing a similar amount of merch as we saw for Super Mario World, and if that’s true, hold onto your wallets.

Here is what the set contains from NCSX:

» Mario and Yoshi eraser which is tethered to a little loop
» Two pvc coins which are stored in a little plastic jug
» Two tape dispensers with a small spool of Mario-artwork-tape
» Two little pens that look like Mario Bros tubes (green and orange)
» Two pairs of self-inking stamps which punch out simple bits of artwork

Pretty cool, especially the stamps.

Pre-order here at NCSX for $25.90
